As an industry, we have searched for decades to find an answer for this problem. Improving the acceptance of human factors science within pilot operating culture will require understanding the disproportionality of internal and external influence as reported by pilots through the survey. This book comes from a series called controlling pilot error, one of which was authored by my advisor Dr. Pilots will be asked the degree to which FAA regulations, organizational culture, and pilot operating culture enhance or detract flying safety in the airlines. This Project defines the problem and sub-problems, and looks at how they will be applied to the program outcomes of the ASCI Graduate Capstone Project. A recent study of human factors learning across a spectrum of high consequence occupations revealed a correlation of improvement in CRM to the learning of the practitioner. We have scientific methods and technology to decrease human error and they are not being used to their full potential by pilots and organizations.
While developing the problem for this project many literary sources were reviewed and a few laid the foundation for this research. The book focuses primarily on pilot error and how it relates to culture environment and CRM all of which built the foundation for this project. A rejection of the null hypothesis means that there is a difference between the two groups and further investigation is warranted. The most surprising comments on surveys were that pilots in training thought the seminar was a waste of time! Program Outcome Three 3. Purportedly, many other airlines would go over CRM in a 15 minute or 1 hour presentation, seemingly in an effort to meet the minimum FAA requirement.

All of the respondents are current FAA part airline pilots.
